From award-winning romance author Loreth Anne White comes a story of justice, loyalty, and unbreakable bonds that is both a thrilling mystery and a moving love story. Newly exonerated ex-con Jeb Cullen is determined to prove his innocence to his former neighbors and win back the heart of Rachel Salonen, the only woman he’s ever loved.

Nine years after her testimony helped put Jeb behind bars, Rachel’s life is finally getting back to normal. But it’s turned upside down by the sudden death of her sister and her new responsibility for her sister’s adopted daughter, Quinn. Now Jeb is back in his hometown, and he’s willing to risk everything to discover who was really responsible for the crime he was accused of. But there are people in Snowy Creek who will do anything to keep the truth buried, a truth that could tear the sleepy town apart and cost Jeb everything he holds dear.

excellent!

This was a really good book. I had read another book by Loreth and wasn't that impressed but I really enjoyed this book. There was tension, suspense, a good love story and really good fleshed out peripheral characters. I really hate injustice and really wanted to put the book down several times but I figured there would be a good outcome so I kept going and it was well worth it. The only thing that surprised me was that the main characters stayed in their home town.

Another great one in Audible!

Loved the narration! Having a male narrator for the masculine point of view was great!

The devastation of lying

The story was fast moving with many sub-plots. It clearly demonstrates the damage caused by man’s cruelty to man and the ignorance of youth. The vivid sex scenes are not necessary to enhance the plot or the book. The relationships of the characters are defined very clearly in the context of the story.

Suspenseful mystery

This was a very good and well written story. I listened to the audible version, and it was done very well. The characters are well described. I usually like to guess who the murderer is in the first or second chapters. I have to say I missed it on this one. Who the bad guy was. It was enjoyable, looking forward to reading the next one in the series.

I was doubtful due to reviews, BUT

This story was absolutely gripping. The narrator(s) were a little weird and hard to get used to at first, but the story itself got so good I stopped paying attention. I found myself having a hard time getting out of my car and back to reality a few times.

liked it

This book was not what I expected. I have been reading LAW'S crime fiction stuff and this one is more like...romance with a veneer of crime fiction...up until around the 75% mark when it hits the ground running. That said, I still really enjoyed it (though I do wish LAW didn't write every character like a walking dictionary..."inexorably" was super prevalent, as was "poignant" & even pugnacious made an appearance).

Good

Only issue with this book was the female narrator, she was a little whiny. But don't let that stop you from reading it!

This was a great read!!

The title of this story alone got my attention. It made me wonder if it would be a good story. It was. This story has many layers to it. The layers are all woven together. You began to see that the plot thickens. It's not just a basic plot. And as the story unfolds. You began to see all is not as it seems in a good and bad way as far as the characters are concern. How they all connect ultimately. It's quite an suspense and romance novel. Check it out!

Kept my interest

I have enjoyed this book as much as Dark lure. I will definitely get other books written by Loreth Anne White . The narrators were good narrating the story.
