Publisher's summary
The last in the Afrolit Now series, The Sins of The Fathers by Zukiswa Wanner is narrated by a man dealing with immense grief. When he’s unable to heal from the trauma of loss, Akani begins to question his and his father’s role as a parent and, in doing so, awakens to the patterns between them. In trying to avoid being like his father as a husband and as a parent, did he inadvertently become exactly the man he wished not to be? And what secrets lie untold? As he grieves, he wonders whether he was ill-advised to keep secrets that may unwittingly hurt his family.
The Sins of The Fathers explores the toxicity of masculinity from the perspective of one man and asks, even with full recognition of who we should not become, can we avoid destiny?

Professor Edelstein examines the enduring appeal of Judy Blume’s books. Over seven lessons, you’ll learn how Blume pioneered middle-grade and young adult (YA) literature and helped to make these genres the global sensations they are today. You’ll identify the themes and motifs that run throughout her books, and you’ll review Blume’s books as literary work worthy of analysis. You’ll also see why the very act of questioning (about the existence of God, the persistence of racism, the unwritten rules of suburbia) is so central to Blume’s vision of coming-of-age literature.

We will explore how Putin’s formative years shaped and drove him and how the supporting cast of characters he gathered along the way helped him get to the Kremlin’s inner sanctum.

It’s two months before Amelia’s big audition for the Mystwick School of Musicraft. If she gets in, she will learn to spin music into powerful magic - but her Gran has one last-ditch plan to persuade her out of it: sports camp. A week of softball, sprinting, and sweaty socks isn't exactly Amelia’s idea of a good time - in fact, she's deeply, appallingly unathletic. By the end of day one, she’s puked her guts out in track, gotten a black eye in no-contact flag football, and firmly established herself as the Least Valuable Player at camp.

Hindolo, a storyteller, returns to his hometown after 30 years and recalls the solitary and formidable old man who opened his home to him and introduced a world of literature and imagination, which for many years, was his only escape. Hindolo begins writing the stories down on paper stolen from a nearby mine to share with his classmates.

Short Story Packs A Hard Lesson
I liked how the writer put so much lived life in 58 minutes! Three snaps up to you! I feel I listened to a 5 hour audiobook with this intricate story. From The mother and father drama to his drama with is wife. All the things he did while separated. and then to learn what his mother did while separated from his dad. all that down to the end. Bravo 👏🏾 👏🏾 👏🏾

Heartbreakingly good
A story of how complex family can be and specifically parenting. We think we know our parents and why they make their choices but do we?

The old saying: Just Keep On Living
This short story is a great reminder that you often run from things that you never deal with; and as you get older, you grow to understand your parents choices alot better. It also is a story of recognizes how your own choices affect you for years beyond the decisions you make.
